DIRECTIONS TO LES CARMES
These instuructions will take you to Les Carmes,if you are using a GPS system beware!,there are two Route de Fontaine de Vaucluse in our area,we are NOT anywhere near the village of Fontaine de Vaucluse,we are in the commune of Le Thor,if you are lost make your way to the centre of Le Thor & telephone us we are only 5 minutes away,do NOT go as far as L’Isle sur le Sorgue,if you do you will have passed us.
From the TGV.
Leave the station area and head to the ring road/courtine go in the direction following signs to the A7 south (sud) Marseilles effectivly you will turn right onto the main ring road,follow that road and do not turn off until you see the motorway way sign (Blue) A7 Sud When you reach the area know as Cap Sud,at the traffic lights turn right following the signs to the Auto route south A7,continue straight on and DO NOT turn off, you will go through sets of traffic lights & over roundabouts about three or four kilometers,you will go over a flyover and as you come down towards the roundabout where you would join the auto route stay in the inside lane and take the little slip road marked Cavillion/Apt D973,at this point follow the next instuctions:-
From Marseille travelling North and from the North Travelling South along the A7 Auto route leave the auto route at:-
Junction 24 (Avignon sud)
Leave the motorway at junction 24 and follow directions to Cavaillon. At the roundabout turn left and follow the D973 towards Cavaillon. Continue along this road for 4 kilometers, the river is on your right, passing the Chatreusse de Bonpasse on your left. Continue on D973 under the railway bridge where the road splits… DO NOT FOLLOW DIRECTION CAVAILLON but continue straight on the D22 sign posted Sisteron, Digne and APT.
Follow this road for a further 2 ½ Km you Turn left at the cross roads (Les Vigneres) taking the direction Le Thor on the D98.
Continue along this narrow road until you reach the Stop sign.(2Km)
Turn left (Route de Fontaine de Vaucluse) and Les Carmes can be found 600 m. on the left, a pair of large entrance gates set in a curved stone wall, two large rocks eitherside the entrance with Les Carmes written in wrought iron.
DIRECTIONS FROM L’ISLE SUR LE SORGUE
Leave the centre and follow signs to Cavillion ( turn Left at the small roundaout by the Total garage) go under the railway bridge as you come up to the top of the small rise there is a road to the right sign posted Caumont D25 take that road for approximatly 4/5 kilometers,when you go passed the cross roads signed Les Vigneres continue straight on for 600 meters and we are on the left,large iron gates and two rocks either side of the entrance with Les Carmes written on them.
