Ann is proud to be the only English person in France, registered as a snail farmer! Ann studied at and agricultural college in La Motte Servelex near Chambery.
Having passed with flying colours Ann now runs a small snail park.

Welcome to Les Carmes
Once the home of an order of Carmelite Monks, this old Provencal Mas is situated in the tranquil countryside near L’Isle sur la Sorgue.
It has been totally renovated into a luxurious Chambre d’hôte by owners Ann and Mike Parkes, with the help of their son Simon doing all the building work.
James; Simon's twin brother, provides gastronomic delights in his Table D'hote Dining Room. Trained by two star Michelin Chef, Martin Blunos, James' knowledge and culinary skills make eating at Les Carmes an experience never to be forgotten.

Escargot Farm
Les Carmes is also a working
Escargot farm. From May to September guests can see the developement of the snails from hatched eggs to fully grown snails.
